Jefferson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee . Together with Grainger and Hamblen counties, it is part of the Morristown, Tennessee , Metropolitan Statistical Area which is, as of December 2005, considered a component of the Knoxville- Sevierville - La Follette , TN Combined Statistical Area . As of 2010, the population was 51,407. The 2005 Census Estimate placed the population at 48,394 . Its county seat is Dandridge . The county's current mayor is Alan Palmieri. Jefferson County has 21 Commissioners, two from each of the ten districts with White Pine electing three. Jefferson County was established as a Tennessee county as of June, 11th 1792.
