About Wayne County, MO

Wayne County is a county located in the Ozark Foothills Region of Southeast Missouri in the United States . As of the 2000 U.S. Census , the population was 13,259. A 2008 estimate, however, showed the population to be 12,652. The county seat is Greenville . The county was officially organized on December 11, 1818, and is named after General "Mad" Anthony Wayne who served in the American Revolutionary War .

Wayne County was created in December 1818 by the last Missouri Territorial Legislature out of parts of Cape Girardeau and Lawrence counties and thus predates the state of Missouri being admitted to the Union. In March 1819, Congress established the Territory of Arkansas and most of Lawrence County, Missouri Territory became Lawrence County, Arkansas Territory. The small strip of “Old Lawrence County” that had been orphaned in Missouri was added to Wayne County by the Missouri State Constitution of 1820. The Osage Strip along the Kansas border was added in 1825. From 1825-1831, Wayne County was an enormous area larger than Massachusetts , Connecticut , Rhode Island , and Delaware combined. All or part of 32 counties in Missouri were at one point part of Wayne County. When Wayne County was formed, five commissioners were appointed to govern the county. Welcome to the 2016 Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office Youth NFL Football Camp. Sheriff Roger L. Harris, 2X Super Bowl Champion Gary Clark formerly of the Washington Redskins and Tessa Wilborne and Jamie Brown of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices would like to invite your child to an NFL experience of a LIFETIME !! Cost: FREE WHO CAN ATTEND: Spotsylvania residents ages 6 to 18 years of age. WHERE DO I REGISTER MY CHILD: Each participating child must register at www.yourNFLexperience.com Registration will start promptly at 8AM each day at the entrance of the football stadium with the camp starting at 9AM. Your child must be picked up by 1PM at the same location. WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD NEED TO BRING: All participants are required to wear either rubber based cleats or tennis shoes and bring a water bottle. Water will be provided and replenished all day. If your child requires an inhaler, please have them bring it. Medical staff will be on hand each day. A snack with be provided to your child at the end of each day. ***METAL STUD CLEATS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE AND WILL NOT BE PERMITTED*** A liability waiver and release form must be completed for each participant and turned in at registration. To help speed up the registration process, you can print this form when you register your child at the top. **********IMPORTANT********** To prepare your child for the camp we recommend the following ... - Please start hydrating your child several days before the camp. - Please make sure your child eats a healthy breakfast each day prior to the start of camp. - Please make sure your child wears appropriate clothing to camp each day.
